/ GTCO Announces 2025 Autism Program Themed “From Awareness to Action: 15 Years of Advancing Autism Inclusion”

Lagos, NigeriaJuly 9, 2025

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (“GTCO” or the “Group”) today announced the dates for its 2025 Autism Program at a press conference in Lagos. This year’s program, themed “From Awareness to Action: 15 Years of Advancing Autism Inclusion,” celebrates a decade and a half of sustained advocacy, support, and empowerment for individuals on the Autism Spectrum through GTCO’s Orange Ribbon Initiative.

Since its inception, the GTCO Autism Program has evolved into a crucial platform for education, intervention, and community engagement across West Africa. The 2025 theme commemorates 15 years of championing engagements on Autism and underscores the importance of moving beyond awareness to taking concrete actions that promote acceptance, accessibility, and sustained support for individuals and families navigating Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

The 2025 Autism Program will feature leading global and local experts, panel discussions, performances, and interactive sessions. The program will also serve as a safe and supportive environment where caregivers, families, and professionals can share insights, build networks, and access tools for effective support and advocacy.

In Nigeria, the conference will be held on July 15th and 16th at the Muson Centre, Lagos, while free one-on-one family consultations with medical and developmental specialists will take place from July 17th to 19th at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. For Ghana, the Autism Program will begin with a workshop on July 21st at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, followed by free consultations at the same venue from July 21st to 24th.

Commenting on the 2025 GTCO Autism Program, Mr. Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, said: “We began this journey with a singular objective—to bring autism out of the shadows and help families find hope and support. Fifteen years on, we are proud of the community we’ve built and the progress we’ve made together. However, one of the most important lessons we’ve learned on this journey is that awareness is just the beginning. Real change requires deliberate action—action that transforms lives, empowers families, and creates real opportunities for individuals with autism to realize their fullest potential.”

He added: “At GTCO, we believe in the power of inclusion. Beyond providing innovative financial solutions, we remain committed to creating a society where every individual, regardless of ability, is given the chance to live a full, meaningful life. By working together—parents, educators, advocates, and caregivers—we can advance a future where everyone is seen, supported, and celebrated.“
